RSV Vaccination Programme Update
Our RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccination programme began in September 2024
It has been offered to:
- Individuals aged 75 to 80, including those who turned 80 between September 2024 and August 2025.
- Pregnant women, to help protect their babies – offered through maternity services, and available in General Practice on request.
What we’ve achieved
- Our nursing team has delivered over 1,200 RSV vaccines to eligible and consenting patients.
- Our vaccination team has also supported patients who are housebound or live in care homes, ensuring they received their vaccines safely and effectively.
Part of the National Programme
RSV vaccination is now part of the UK’s national adult immunisation programme, alongside Shingles and Pneumonia vaccinations.
Are you eligible?
If you’re eligible for the RSV vaccine (or any other routine adult vaccine), we’ll contact you around your birth month, usually via text message – our quickest and easiest communication method.
You’ll have the option to decline via the text if you choose.
✅ Tip: Please make sure we have your most up-to-date phone number and communication preferences recorded in your medical records.
