New Smokefree Support Services launch across Hampshire and Isle of Wight

Posted on:

Smokefree Hampshire and Smokefree Island have launched an expanded suite of smoking and nicotine cessation services for residents aged 12 and over who live, work, or are registered with a GP in Hampshire or the Isle of Wight.

The service offers personalised 1-to-1 support from trained stop smoking mentors, available in GP surgeries, pharmacies, community centres, and vape stores – with both in-person and remote sessions. Free quit aids such as nicotine patches, gum, inhalators, and vapes are provided, along with access to prescribed medications like Varenicline and Cytisine (except for pregnant women).

A new focus on vape and nicotine reduction targets both adults and young people, offering behavioural support to reduce or quit non-tobacco nicotine products.

Specialist programmes are also available for:

  • People with severe mental illness
  • Pregnant and postnatal individuals (with tailored maternity support and direct access to vape kits or NRT)
  • Those at high risk of relapse
  • Individuals not yet ready to quit but looking to cut down

Referrals can be made via GP systems, the service website, or through self-referral. For more information or to sign up, visit smokefreehampshire.co.uk
