New self-service tablets pilot to start at Jubilee surgery in August
In August we will be launching a pilot scheme offering patients the chance to use IT tablets on-site to manage their appointments and admin requests – part of an initiative aimed at improving accessibility and digital inclusion.

Later this month, two self-service tablets will be available in the waiting area at Jubilee surgery for patients to use the Anima system – our secure digital platform, for booking appointments, and submitting medical or administrative queries.
Designed for patients without digital access at home or who need additional support
The initiative specifically supports patients who do not have access to the internet or suitable devices at home, or who feel uncomfortable navigating digital services alone. We recognise that not everyone has the ability or confidence to use Anima from home, so these in-surgery tablets offer another pathway to ensure all patients can get the help they need efficiently.
The pilot at Jubilee includes:
- Two tablets:
- One mounted on a stand for easy access while standing
- One placed on a desk for patients who are seated or have mobility needs
- Privacy screens on both devices to protect patient confidentiality
- Clear instructions and signage to guide users, with staff also on hand to help
The trial will be evaluated over the coming months, with feedback from patients helping to shape future plans. If successful, we will look to expand to Highlands & Whiteley practices.
