Pathology system upgrade – Monday 10 November 2025

We are letting our patients know that Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) will be implementing a new Pathology Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) on Monday 10 November 2025.

This is part of a wider regional upgrade to improve how laboratory tests are managed across several NHS Trusts. The new system will enhance data quality, improve collaboration between hospitals, and support better patient care.

During the transition period, there may be some temporary disruption to blood test services. We will do everything possible to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.

Please note:

• Phlebotomy (blood test) clinics will be unavailable on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 November. Normal services will resume from Wednesday 12 November.
• Urgent blood tests will still be accommodated during this period.
• If you already have a blood test appointment booked on or around these dates, our team will contact you if any changes are required.

We appreciate your understanding and patience while this important upgrade takes place.
