Our Patient Participation Group

Join our Patient Participation Group (PPG) to help Meon Health Practice:

  • ensure the voice of patients in our community inform our decision making
  • understand how to improve services to best meet the needs of our patients
  • communicate accurately and honestly about key health matters
  • empower all patients to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.

Membership

Participation is open to all registered Meon Health Practice patients aged 18 years and older. Membership is a voluntary role.

Non-urgent advice: Our PPG does not:

deal with personal medical issues

review individual patient complaints as there is already an established complaint policy for this.

PPG activities

We aim to contact our PPG members 4 times a year. Typical activities may include:

  • completing an annual PPG patient survey about your experience with the Practice
  • consultation about NHS and practice priorities and key projects
  • participating in focus groups to consider particular aspects of our services
  • reviewing practice communications.

PPG activity and outcomes will be shared through practice communication channels; our patient newsletter (available online and in surgery) and via our website.

Members’ Code of Conduct

  1. Members must be registered as a patient at the Practice.  If you register elsewhere, your membership of the PPG will end.
  2. Members will act as a ‘critical friend’ for the Practice – all opinions, suggestions and questions will be submitted in a respectful and collaborative manner.
  3. Meon Health Practice and the NHS operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding violence and abuse towards our staff in person, via the phone and online. The practice has the right to remove patients who do not respect this policy from the PPG and the Practice.
  4. Patients who join the PPG agree to the data they provide being held in a database and for relevant patient communications emails to be sent to them. The Practice will hold this data in accordance with the same data protection and confidentiality policy applied to all patient information.
